Korneski Awarded Fellowship
Congratulations to Dr. Kurt Korneski for being named a fellow at the L.R. Wilson Institute for Canadian History at McMaster University. The fellowship is awarded to scholars "who are pushing the field of Canadian history in exciting new transnational directions".
Korneski's recent book, Conflicted Colony: Critical Episodes in Nineteenth-Century Newfoundland and Labrador, looks at how nineteenth-century Newfoundland was an archetypal borderland -- a space where changes in the authority of imperial, national, and indigenous territorial claims shaped the opportunities and identities of a socially diverse population.
