Who should attend this course?

Any Memorial University employee that as a part of their job requirements is required to or has the portential to work in a confined space. As well Supervisors that direct work of employees that conduct work in confined spaces are also required to complete confined space training.

Description

In 2012 changes to the NL Occupational Health and Safety Regulations made it mandatory for anyone working in a confined space to complete a confined space entry and awarness training course approved by WorkplaceNL. 

This course is designed to provide students with an understanding of confined spaces and the ability to recognize hazards associated with working in a confined space environment. This course will meet the Confined Space Training Standard for WorkplaceNL for the Province of Newfoundland and Labrador.

This WorkplaceNL approved training program consists of classroom discussion and demonstration, practical training and trainee evaluation and certification giving all employees the fundamental information to protect themselves from injury associated with confined space hazards.
