On Nov. 28, 2023, Memorial University is once again joining GivingTuesday, the global day-of-giving.

In 2022, alumni, faculty, staff, students and community members came together in a big way, raising almost $160,000 to support our students. 

Thriving Student Fund

Helping Memorial’s students thrive and achieve academic and personal success during their time at Memorial is an investment in our shared future. All GivingTuesday donations towards the Thriving Student Fund will go towards supporting undergraduate and graduate students across all campuses in 2024.

Support will come in the form of scholarships, bursaries and awards to increase access to education and provide financial support so students can focus on their studies. Donations will also provide emergency funding to students who are in need of short-term support to cover the basic costs of living such as food, heat, light and housing in order to continue their studies.

#UNselfie Campaign

To share your giving story and motivate others on #GivingTuesdayCA, we invite givers to take an #UNselfie and share their message of support on social media between Nov. 26 and 28, 2023.

Here’s how you can share your personal reason for giving:

1. Download and print our #MemorialUGiving #UNselfie template in colour or black and white!
2. Templates for Grenfell Campus (Grenfell UNselfie colour or Grenfell UNselfie B&W), Marine Institute (Marine Institute UNselfie colour or Marine Institute B&W), Labrador Campus (Lab Campus UNselfie_colour or Lab Campus B&W). are also available.
3. Write your own reason for giving – whether it is time, talent or treasure, encouragement, skills or money - on this special day.
4. Say cheese! Snap your #UNselfie photo, share it on your social media channels and inspire others to open their hearts and tap into their giving spirit.
