Four tunes are put together here. The first is a reel (fast tempo, 4/4 metre) called "Devil in the Garden." The second, a jig (fast, 6/8 metre), is named "Irishman's Shanty" in Leach's documentation but it is more widely known as "Irish Washerwoman." The third is an unnamed jig. Like many Newfoundland tunes, this one has some extra beats in some of the duple metre phrases. The tune repeats the first line with its characteristic octave leap three times and then cadences with a new phrase. The fourth jig is called "Dry Billy Goat."
