Shaheen Shah is currently serving as the Secretary of the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) at Memorial University of Newfoundland (MUN) Chapter. He is a Petroleum Engineer by background and has interests in the advancement of world natural resources through teaching, research, and industrial collaboration. He is presently pursuing his Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree in the Faculty of Engineering and Applied Science at MUN. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in Petroleum and Mining Engineering at Jashore University of Science and Technology (JUST), Bangladesh and Master of Engineering degree in Oil and Gas Engineering at MUN.

Shah has rewarded with various awards and honors during his undergraduate and post-graduate study period, such as Dean Gold Medal for excellent academic performance in B.Sc., Excellent Teaching Assistantship certificate in MUN, etc. His research area includes a wide range of oil and gas engineering; safety, risk and reliability engineering; energy and environment.
