Peyman Bahrami
Peyman worked as a full-time research assistant and a PhD candidate at Memorial University in Oil and Gas Engineering. Peyman's educational background is in Oil and Gas engineering, for both Master’s and Bachelor’s degrees.He has a few years of industrial experience in the upstream section of oil and gas. His current research interests are numerical simulation,enhanced oil recovery, and data analysis in big data problems.
Mohammad Mahdi Ghiasi
Mahdi was the Project Manager with a passion for defining data-driven strategies and developing end-to-end data science solutions. His 10+ years of hands-on industry experience and academic research have enabled him to develop in-depth management and problem-solving skills.
Dr. Mohammad Mojammel Huque
Mojammel is a Postdoctoral Fellow with experience in multiphase flow simulation and drilling data analytics. He has extensive teaching and research experience in Drilling and Petroleum Engineering. Mojammel’s expertise also includes: Statistical Analysis, Machine Learning, Experimental Design, Lab Scale Experimental Investigation, Literature Review, Research Publication, Student and Co-op Supervision, Graduate Teaching / Seasonal Course Instructor.
Dr. Mohammed Mokhtar
Mokhtar holds a Memorial University PhD of Mechanical Engineering. He is an independent drilling engineer and was a field services leader with Halliburton. His experience includes the fields of drilling and completion fluids, drilling optimization, project management, teaching, research and development.
Dr. Abbas Mamudu
Abbas is a Postdoctoral Fellow at Memorial University’s Department of Process Engineering. Abbas has supervised graduate and undergraduate students for the project. He has more than thirty publications.He has worked actively as part of the Drilling Data Analytics Team. He has an indepth understanding of energy analytics and has collaborated to proffer effective solutions.
Dr. Erfan Mohagheghian
Erfan is a PhD graduate from the University of Calgary with a focus in reservoir engineering. He obtained his MSc in Oil and Gas Engineering from Memorial University and has a Bachelor’s degree in petroleum engineering from the Amirkabir University of Technology. He worked as a seasoned data analyst on the project where his vast experience in reservoir engineering was beneficial to the team.
Dr. Augustine Osarogiagbon
Augustine Osarogiagbon holds a PhD from Memorial University. His research area involved applying deep learning to improve drilling safety. Augustine also received a Bachelor's and Master’s degree from the Department of Electrical/Electronic Engineering, University of Benin. Augustine is a Memorial University Postdoctoral Fellow where he enjoys working on the application of machine learning to improve drilling efficiency.
Dr. Abdulbaset Ali
Abdulbaset Ali is a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Memorial University. He has a background in machine learning and computer vision and focused on applying artificial intelligence for the project. He is actively profering innovative solutions with the Drilling Data Analytics team.
Bahare Zare
Bahare Zare is a graduate student at Memorial University in Computer Science. Bahare also holds a Master's in Applied Mathematics, focusing on data science and machine learning. Her research area at Memorial University is to detect virus infections using CT-Scan images applying artificial intelligence methods. Bahare also proposed viable innovations for the drilling data analytics team.
Yaoyu Sun
Yaoyu Sun is completing the fourth semester of a Master of Computer Engineering at Memorial University. He received his Bachelor of Computer Science from Macau University of Science and Technology in 2020. Yaoyu Sun has worked as an intern in the Marketing Department and Operation Department in several large Internet companies. His interests include website development, machine learning, and data analysis.
Qian Zhong
Qian Zhong is a second year Memorial University Master of Computer Science student. She has work experience as a Developer and a Test Engineer. Qian’s interests include Data Analysis. She is versed in React data prep algorithm.
Nicholas Collier
Nicholas Collier is a third year Mechanical Engineering work term student at Memorial University with a goal to combining mechanical, communication, and software skills for problem solving applications relevant to the industry and workplace.
Nicholas Anstey
Nicholas is an undergraduate student in his seventh semester in Memorial University’s Computer Engineering program. His background is primarily in data processing and analysis, and he is hoping to include machine learning through his work on projects.
Muhammad Fareed
Fareed is a full time master’s student at Memorial University in Environmental Systems Engineering and Management. Fareed’s educational background is in Petroleum and Gas and more than 6 years’ experience as a drilling engineer/supervisor.
Wilson Ekpotu
Wilson is a graduate of petroleum engineering and a young professional member of the Energy Council of Canada. In line with his current career interests, he is a graduate student of Energy Systems Engineering here in Canada and has developed hands-on experience and exposure to the recent trends and developments in the hydrogen sector.
Matthew Kearney
Matthew is a fifth-year Mechanical Engineering work term student at Memorial University. He has a background in machine learning & image processing and is excited to continue developing his skillset while working on the challenges.
Harnoor Singh
Harnoor Singh is a Bachelor of Engineering Student in computer engineering at Memorial University. His background and experience is primarily in writing Python Scripts to automate repetitive and tedious tasks for reservoir engineers. His experience on the project enabled him to further improve his coding skills, and contribute to meaningful results with an actual impact on the industry.
Osama Khalid
Osama Khalid is a Bachelors of Engineering student in computer science at Memorial University with background skills in extracting a variety of drilling data to produce suitable input datasets for machine learning models. His work on the project provided him with the opportunity to explore the various aspects of working with data for oil drilling operations.
Adam Kilam
Adam is a Bachelor of Engineering Student in computer engineering at Memorial University. His work term on the project provided an excellent opportunity for the development of new data engineering skills and helped Adam gain foundational knowledge of the process for oil drilling and production.
Brianna Hillier
Brianna Hiller is a Bachelors of Engineering student at Memorial University, majoring in Process Engineering with a Chemical and Bioprocess specialization. Her work on the project allowed her to apply her leadership and project management skills. She plans to utilize the knowledge learned from the project’s research to improve energy operations.
Daniel Kelly
Daniel Kelly is a Bachelor of Engineering student at Memorial University. His work term on the project provided valuable technical experience for application in the industry. He is highly enthusiastic about implementing his knowledge in ongoing projects within the group and looks forward to seeing what they do in the future.
Riley Moss
Riley is a Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical) student of Memorial University, who is passionate about engineering maintenance operations. His work term experience on the project empowered him to enhance his skill sets when working with software for oil drilling and production.
Alireza Rahnama
Alireza is a Bachelor of Science student in Computer Science at Memorial University. His research skills are in the development of python scripts to extract and perform exploratory data analysis using statistical visualization and quantitative techniques to transform, and normalize the drilling data from multiple data sources. He gained work experience on the project as a Data Analyst that helped improve his problem-solving skills in the sustainable energy field.
Sean Drover
Sean is a Bachelor of Engineering (computer engineering) student at Memorial University. Sean is passionate about data science and python programming. During his work term, the project provided an opportunity for Sean to hone his skills as a computer engineering student and to further grow in the areas as data science and pythonic coding.
