Virtual Centre of Offshore Safety Expertise (ViCOS)
In response to the request from offshore oil and gas regulators in the European Union, the European Commission has just made public a web-platform – named Virtual Centre of Offshore Safety Expertise (ViCOS) - where industry, academia and independent experts in the oil and gas sector will have the opportunity to meet the regulators and establish a ‘service-providing client’ relationship.
In ViCOS, unaffiliated offshore technical and regulatory experts; public organisations; private companies or commercial entities and associations – will be able to promote their competencies and availability, while Member States’ Competent Authorities are their customers.
Furthermore, ViCOS will serve as a knowledge base – a centre of expertise - and develop into a communication platform with up-to-date information on all aspects of safety for offshore oil and gas operations.
The Virtual Centre of Offshore Safety Expertise (ViCOS) is available online at https://euoag.jrc.ec.europa.eu/vicos. We kindly invite you to sign up in ViCOS following the online instructions. Registration to ViCOS is free.
To sign up in ViCOS, you need an EU Login account. If you do not have it, please create one at the European Commission Authentication Service website: https://webgate.ec.europa.eu/cas/.
Your Organisation/Company should have at least one member registered in ViCOS as contact point. The contact point is the liaison between the individual members of the Organisation/Company and the ViCOS Administrators.
The contact point has the control over the registrations of the individual employees of his/her Organisation/Company. We therefore invite you to identify a member of your Organisation/Company as contact point.
For any clarifications or request for assistance, the ViCOS Administrators can be contacted at jrc-vicos@ec.europa.eu.
