C-RISE

In July 2018, Dr. Faisal Khan travelled to University Technology PETRONAS (UTP) campus in Seri Iskander, Perak, Malaysia. The goal of the trip was to foster an ongoing collaboration of C-RISE with Chemical engineering and Centre for Advanced Process Safety (CAPS) at UTP. During his trip. Memorial University and UTP signed an MoU aimed at strengthening the ongoing research collaboration further and to expand research initiatives in the area of Offshore and Safety at Sea. 

Some of the highlights of the trip included:

• Presented a series of Guest lectures for the Department of Chemical Engineering and Centre for Advanced Process Safety 
• Meeting with UTP Senior Management and the executives of PETRONAS supported Institute of Contaminant Management in Oil and Gas Operation members 
• Discussions with graduate students working in the areas of Safety and Risk engineering. Several students expressed interest in visiting or attending Memorial University to pursue their congoing research
