About Us
The purpose of EAGE-MUN is to promote Geosciences and Engineering amongst students and industry professionals. EAGE-MUN seeks to promote the global EAGE student activities at MUN. EAGE-MUN encourages Students to be creative and work rigorously to become an essential part of local student communities by demonstrating a high level of interest in the future of this industry. Providing lecturer series by researchers and industry representatives from multiple disciplines of engineering and geosciences, especially where overlap exists between the disciplines and faculty research areas.
EAGE-MUN
EAGE-MUN is the local student chapter of the European Association of Geoscientist and Engineers (EAGE) at the Memorial University of Newfoundland (MUN).
The European Association of Geoscientists and Engineers (EAGE) MUN Student Chapter is a non-profit society for MUN students in the fields of geoscience and engineering including:
geophysics, petroleum exploration, geology, reservoir engineering, mining and mineral exploration, civil engineering, tunneling, and environmental matters.
We provide an opportunity for the professional development of both undergraduate and graduate students. We connect students from earth sciences and engineering backgrounds with industry tools, resources, and people through seminars, workshops, training, field trips and networking events.
There will be guest speaker lectures (faculty members and also from industry), and social events. We will also be participating in international competitions. Follow us and keep an eye out for updates!
EAGE - Global
The European Association of Geoscientists and Engineers (EAGE) is a global professional, not-for-profit association for geoscientists and engineers with approximately 19,000 members worldwide. It provides a global network of commercial and academic professionals to all members. The association is truly multi-disciplinary and international in form and pursuits.
All members of EAGE are professionally involved in (or studying) geophysics, petroleum exploration, geology, reservoir engineering, mining and mineral exploration, civil engineering, tunneling, and environmental matters.
EAGE operates two divisions: the Oil & Gas Geoscience Division and the Near Surface Geoscience Division.
