Mobile BlueLight

Call Security and Share Your Location with Mobile BlueLight

Free to download and use, the MUN Safe app makes it simple to contact Campus Enforcement and Patrol (CEP) in an emergency or crisis.

You can use MUN Safe to directly call 709-864-4100 or 911 directly.

If you are on campus and you feel that you are in danger or in a crisis and need assistance, you can activate a “Mobile BlueLight”. This feature will call Campus Enforcement directly and will also share your location to campus security immediately. This allows you to talk and move to a safe location where an officer can locate you. It also allows you to move silently to a safe location where officers will be sent to your location.

The Mobile BlueLight features GPS-enabled maps and can be used on all Memorial campuses. If you are not on a Memorial campus, a CEP dispatcher can still help to send local police services to your location.

How the app works:

1. Select "Mobile Bluelight" on your MUNSafe App and "Trigger a Mobile BlueLight"

2. Activate location services for the app (required if not already set up).

Note!  This step is only required the first time Mobile BlueLight is used.  Most devices will save your locations setting for the app once selected.

This can also be done in your app settings at anytime, saving you time in the event that you need to activate a mobile BlueLight.

3. Call CEP to activate Mobile BlueLight

Note!  Once you trigger the Mobile BlueLight with location services on your location will be sent to a CEP dispatcher.

If you are not able to speak on the phone, please stay silent and the officer will be sent to your location to help.

If you are not in a safe location, it is encouraged that you move to a safe space.  The dispatcher will update the officer with your changing location.
