International Labour Organization (ILO) Headquarters in Geneva on 12 April 2018.
The Department of Economics wishes to recognize and applaud Dr Lynn Gambin's participation as an expert in an event at the International Labour Organization (ILO) Headquarters in Geneva on 12 April 2018.
The full-day "Policy Dialogue on Lifelong Learning: who pays and who delivers?" was the first in a series of policy dialogues within the framework of the ILO's Global Commission on the Future of Work. The event aimed "to identify and explore the key components of a system of lifelong learning adapted to the needs of the future of work, including operational models, allocation of responsibilities between the public and private sector, and potential financing mechanisms."
Dr Gambin gave a presentation on financing lifelong learning in which she drew on her research on funding and financing of education and training in England and Europe, including the investment decisions of employers, individuals and the State.
The event's proceedings will provide points of consideration for the Global Commission's final report on how to implement lifelong learning to meet the needs of the future.
Congratulations Lynn.
