Support and Resources
Support
Academic Support Representatives
Academic Support Representatives (ASRs) have been made available to academic units, as they need them. ASRs provide units with access to one of our senior instructional designers or educational developers for advice on planning and preparation of remote courses; make recommendations on how to best facilitate remote instruction; and connect units with other CITL staff, services and resources.
Just-in-Time Support
Our Support Centre offers extended hours of support during evenings and weekends, and continues to provide instructors and students with just-in-time support. Contact us through the chat link above for: technical questions or assistance with courses in Brightspace; support with the Online Rooms virtual classroom environment; or to connect with our experts in instructional strategies, technical systems, media services, and online course exam administration.
Learning Technology Coaches
Learning Technology Coaches support the implementation of learning technologies for online and remote teaching. Coaches are available to support instructors with using various tools in their Brightspace course sites, and using Webex for instruction and office hours. They can also investigate other learning technologies instructors are interested in to create accessible and engaging learning experiences for students.
Instructor Series
Our Instructor Series offers virtual sessions on key topics to support effective remote and online instruction. Topics include preparing to teach remotely, creating video recordings, embedding principles of universal design, low-tech solutions for remote teaching, alternatives to assessments and more.
Visit this events calendar to view the schedule and register for a session; check back regularly for additional sessions and topics that will be added. View our Winter 2022 schedule.
Recordings of these sessions are also available.
