Are you a graduate student or postdoctoral fellow who is teaching or is interested in teaching? The Graduate Student Community of Practice (CoP) offers a space to connect, share ideas and enhance your teaching practice.
What is a Community of Practice?
A Community of Practice (CoP) brings together people with a shared interest to learn, collaborate and achieve both individual and group goals.1
The Graduate Student Teaching CoP is an interdisciplinary, student-led group for graduate students and postdoctoral fellows who teach or want to learn more about teaching in higher education. During CoP meetings, participants discuss, troubleshoot and share their experiences working as teaching assistants (TAs) and per-course instructors (PCIs) or other teaching-related opportunities.
What’s Involved?
In a supportive environment, members:
- Share teaching strategies and resources.
- Explore active learning, reflective teaching and student engagement.
- Network with peers and CITL experts.
- Address teaching challenges together.
Activities include regular online meetings, professional development sessions and collaborative projects. In-person or campus-specific meetups may also be organized based on interest.
