Previous NSSE Results

Memorial University has participated in NSSE for multiple administrations on a three-year rotation. The current format of the survey and thematic analysis allows for use of 2014, 2017, and 2020 results for longitudinal comparison. Memorial had previously participated in 2008 and 2011 as well, however, the instrument underwent significant changes in 2013. The results of 2008 and 2011 are not included here to avoid confusion and to maintain relevancy of the results. Some of the main reports can be found in the sections below.

Important note for NSSE 2020: This survey was administered during a unique semester. The university was closed for a week in January due to a snow storm and then closed all on-campus operations in mid-March due to the Covid-19 pandemic. The final email reminder for NSSE was sent on March 10, and only 31 responses were recorded on or after March 15, the date students were notidifed of the campus shutdown.

The NSSE Institutional Report displays core survey results for MUN students alongside those of three comparison groups. NSSE comparison groups may be customized by (a) identifying specific institutions from the list of the past two years of NSSE participants, (b) composing the group by selecting institutional characteristics, or (c) a combination of these. Institutions that chose not to customize received default groupsa that provide relevant comparisons for most institutions.

The snapshot report is a brief collection of key results meant as a starting point to promote discussion. If you are new to NSSE, this is a great place to start.

NSSE data can be organized into ten Engagement Indicators organized within four major themes. The following reports cover the overall results for MUN. Explanations for each indicator can be found here and in the following reports.
