Memorial University Student Experience Survey

Memorial is launching the first annual Memorial University Student Experience Survey in winter 2025. This important student survey will collect information about all students’ academic and non-academic experiences at Memorial and help the university to identify and improve upon aspects of the student experience across different programs, campuses and academic levels. The results, which will be published in spring 2025 and shared widely, will support university-wide efforts to improve student experiences, enhance services to students, support academic unit planning and review processes, and meet accountability and reporting requirements.

The Memorial University Student Experience Survey 2025 will be administered from February 11 – February 28, 2025. The survey will be made available to registered students through a direct invitation and personal link sent to their Memorial email account, and responses will be kept confidential. Survey results will be summarized in aggregate form only with no identifying information included.

Students who complete and submit their survey response will be eligible to win one of 15 gift cards, valued at $100 each, to be used at any Memorial campus bookstore. There will be winners at all campuses.

Who is eligible to complete the Student Experience Survey?

Students pursuing a credential at any campus of Memorial University who are currently registered in the winter 2025 semester will receive an email invitation to complete the survey.

Why didn’t I receive an invitation to complete the Student Experience Survey?

Individuals who are attending a campus of Memorial but are not seeking a Memorial credential or are not engaged in an undergraduate, graduate, diploma or certificate level of study will not be included in the population for this survey. These exceptions include concurrent studies, visitor/exchange, ESL and post-graduate admission types.

Is the Student Experience Survey anonymous?

Survey responses will be kept confidential by the Centre for Institutional Analysis and Planning (CIAP) and results will be reported in aggregate/summary form only. The survey is not anonymous as it is being administered using individual links. This ensures the integrity of the results and will allow limited data from the Banner student system to be merged with survey responses at the analysis stage. Information about campus, level of study, year of study, admission type and degree/major information can then be included with the survey responses and this information does not need to be collected through additional survey questions. This linked data will also facilitate the prize draw so that winners can be contacted at their @mun.ca email address. Refer to the survey’s Privacy Statement for complete details. CIAP will never release identifying information from the results of this survey.

Will the results of the Student Experience Survey be shared with students?

A summary report of survey results will be prepared and made availably publicly on this webpage in spring 2025.
