Dr. Ailsa Craig
Special Advisor to the President on Continuing Education
Professor of Sociology

Dr. Ailsa Craig is a full professor of Sociology, former Interim Dean of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences (HSS), former Associate Dean, Curriculum and Programs and has served as Head of the Department of Sociology. Dr. Craig is also a co-founder and co-chair of the first 2SLGBTQIA+ community centre in Newfoundland and Labrador (Quadrangle), and a 2016 recipient of the President’s Award for Outstanding Teaching (Faculty). A Fulbright alum and graduate of New York University in the United States and York University in Toronto, Ontario, Dr. Craig is committed to building sustainable, accountable structures that support ongoing EDI-AR, accessibility and community engagement in higher and continuing educational spaces.

Hamed Ismail holds an MBA from Memorial University and a BSc (Honors) in Psychology from the University of Dhaka, Bangladesh. With over a decade of experience in digital marketing, Hamed specializes in social media strategy, e-commerce management, content marketing, and website optimization. He holds multiple certifications from industry leaders, which support his innovative approaches to driving growth and engagement.

Passionate about problem-solving and process optimization, Hamed excels in creating customer-centric digital experiences that boost engagement and enhance brand presence. His expertise spans strategic planning, data-driven marketing, and integrated digital solutions aimed at improving user satisfaction and operational efficiency across the platforms he manages.

Ella Banfield

Ella Banfield is a third year student at Memorial University of Newfoundland and Labrador (MUN) studying French and History in the Humanities and Social Sciences department. Ella is an executive member of the history society at MUN. She also graduated from the Holy Heart of Mary High School International Baccalaureate program. Currently, she is working with Dr. Craig exploring continuing education programs at MUN.

Charlene Connors
Program Developer (Grenfell Campus)

Charlene Connors is a Program Developer at Grenfell Campus, Memorial University, with over eight years of experience designing and managing professional development and community education programs. Her work spans strategic planning, marketing, communications, and event coordination. Previously, she served as a Student Recruitment Officer at Grenfell Campus, leading international and domestic recruitment initiatives. She has volunteered with several organizations such as MADD Canada, local food bank, and served as a municipal councillor from 2013-2020. Charlene holds a Bachelor of Science from Memorial University, and has completed various leadership and communications training programs.
