Belle Steinhauer has immersed herself within the Faculty of Business Administration, the Newfoundland and Labrador startup community, and St. John’s community since beginning the master of business administration (MBA) program at Memorial in 2021.

Ms. Steinhauer was thrilled to be accepted into Memorial’s MBA program following her early career in financial services and completion of a bachelor of arts from Western University.

Throughout her time at Memorial, she availed of the many opportunities presented by the business faculty. She was a member of the Memorial MBA Case Competition team, travelling and presenting at the John Molson MBA International Case Competition in Montreal. She attended and spoke at the 2022 Global Business Forum in Banff, Alta. alongside 10 MBA students selected from universities across Canada. In 2022, Ms. Steinhauer was a visiting MBA student at the Haskayne School of Business in Calgary, studying business negotiations. She also volunteered as a panellist at the business faculty’s graduate orientation week, helping new students immerse themselves and make the most of their time at Memorial. She was also a general member of The Fund and the Management Consulting Club.

Ms. Steinhauer first began engaging with local startup organizations through Memorial’s Insight Business Consulting program in 2022. Since then, she has completed the Genesis Centre’s Evolution program with HIVE Geospatial, a technology company founded in 2022.

Outside of her university involvement, Ms. Steinhauer has been a long-time volunteer at therapeutic riding centres across Canada, helping provide inclusive access to equine therapy to facilitate the development and potential of children, youth and adults. Currently, she volunteers at Rainbow Riders in St. John’s.

Ms. Steinhauer’s commitment to intellectual curiosity and community service during her time at Memorial has been recognized through several awards including the MBA Award for Excellence (2022-2023), the Dr. Alex Faseruk MBA Scholarship for Excellence in Service (2022-2023), the Richard and Nancy Flynn Bursary (2022-2023), the Imperial Tobacco Canadian Limited Graduate Scholarship in Business Studies (2021-2022), and the CFA® Institute Student Scholarship (2022).
