Termination of
transcription
As with other
translation and transcription processes, the termination point for
transcription is indicated by a standard motif in the
dsDNA molecule, in this case a
hairpin-loop structure
recognizable as a region of two-fold symmetry. The 2 x 6bp has a standard motif that
produces a self-complementary CG-rich
region in the RNA transcript,
with mutational variants in various genes.
