Morphological variation between white-tailed & mule deer

The antlers of white-tailed deer are a single unbranched main beam; those of mule deer and black-tailed deer are forked into two subtynes. The tail of white-tails is broad and fringed with white hairs; that of mule deer is narrower and tipped with black, and is especially prominent in black-tailed deer, a subspecies of mule deer.
