Covalent linkage of adjacent Thymine-Thymine
(T^T) pairs
Pyrimidine dimers
(typically between adjacent T^T bases) form when
DNA is exposed to Ultraviolet light.
The covalent linkage of
adjacent T residues as a four-carbon cyclo-butyl
ring is reversible by photoreactivation.
