Species used for protein electrophoresis

Barbarea vulgaris (Yellowrocket or Wintercress) [Brassicaceae] is an introduced species that occurs as a common weed around St. John's.  It produces bright yellow flowers in June - July.

Daphnia (Water Flea) [Cladocera: Branchiopoda] is a small zooplankton crustacean found in lakes and ponds. Females produces broods of eggs by asexual parthenogenesis, such that all offspring are genetically identical 'clones.'
