EMS Mutagenesis
Ethyl Methane Sulfonate is an alykylating agent commonly used in laboratory mutagenesis of cells. Addition of an ethyl group onto the =O of guanine modifies its H-bonds, such that it pairs with thymine instead of cytosine.
