Biology Graduate Student Symposium

GENERAL INFO

The Biology Student Graduate Symposium is our annual day-long symposium led by graduate students to highlight the work of students in Biology, the Marine Institute, Ocean Sciences, Cognitive and Behavioural Ecology, Aquaculture, and Environmental Science programs. The goal of the symposium is to provide professional development for students in a constructive manner, fostering communication and interactions across multiple foci. The BGSS allows students to receive anonymous feedback and constructive criticism on their presentations.

Typically, this event consists of a lunch, coffee and snacks throughout the day, a keynote speaker of renown in their field, and a reception afterwards. All of this is at no cost to graduate students, but we do rely heavily on fundraising.
