It can be important while you are still an undergraduate to look out for opportunities and resources to help you finance your postgraduate studies. Some of these may require applications during your fourth year and therefore you should learn ahead what the requirements might be and make sure that you qualify.

Here is a list of some opportunities or resources that we know about:

NSERC graduate scholarships

If you are interested in obtaining financial support for studies in a master's or doctoral program, you should read the information and types of awards available from NSERC.  Note that the application deadlines for most of these occur in the early Fall each year.

CIHR graduate scholarships

Dr John Snow Memorial Scholarship

Available to students from Newfoundland and Labrador who are Canadian citizens and who have been accepted into the first year of an approved optometry program. The scholarship is valued at $1000.
Deadline for applications: Aug 31.
