Admission into a Major
Eligibility for Admission into the Human Biosciences Major
To be eligible for admission to the Human Biosciences Major, you must complete at least eight undergraduate courses, including the following:
- 6 credit hours in CRW, with at least 3 credit hours in English courses
- Mathematics 1000 (or 1006) (Mathematics 1090 may be required as a prerequisite)
- Two first-year Chemistry courses from one of the following combinations:
- 1050 & 1051
- 1200 & 1001
- 1010 & 1050 (You must be eligible for Chemistry 2400 in your second year)
- Biology 1001
- Biology 1002 OR Human Biosciences 1001
- At least one elective course
A minimum average of 60% in these courses is required for admission.
Note: It is recommended that students complete Chemistry 1051 before beginning their second year of studies.

(By submitting this form, you authorize the department to complete the Declaration/Change of Academic Programme form and send it to the Registrar's Office on your behalf.)
Application Deadline & Processing
There is no official deadline to apply; however, we strongly recommend submitting your application by May 31 to ensure your major is recorded at the Registrar's Office before Fall registration begins.
- Applications are typically processed within two weeks, though delays may occur during peak times.
- You will receive an email confirmation once your application has been processed.
Important: Students who do not declare their major by May 31 may not be eligible for departmental scholarships or award nominations.
