Abstract
Title: ‘Dyslipidemic Pregnancies: Implications for Maternal and Offspring Health’.
Summary: Although there is an expected increase in maternal lipids during pregnancy to support optimal fetal growth, an excessive, non-physiologic rise in maternal lipids during gestation may have adverse implications for both maternal and offspring health. This presentation will explore the state of the science regarding maternal dyslipidemia, with an emphasis on the mechanisms through which excessive early-life cholesterol exposure may program metabolic disease risk in later-life.
