In September 2011, the department was visited by Joyce O'Doherty, wife of Dr. Patrick O'Doherty who was one of the first graduates of the department's M.Sc. program in Biochemistry.  For her visit, Ms. O'Doherty visited with two Department Heads - Dr. Phil Davis (right) and Dr. Martin Mulligan (left) - and presented a copy of Dr. O'Doherty's thesis to the department.
