Summer Symposium 2011
Nine excellent talks from graduate students and 5 posters from undergraduate summer students were presented at the first Biochemistry Summer Symposium held on 18 August 2011 at the Fluvariium.
The poster and oral presentations showed terrific research and information, and all of the participants are to be congratulated on the quality of their work.
There were two prizes for best oral presentations and two for the best poster
presentations - all generously donated by Invitrogen/Life Technologies Inc. The competition was very close among the participants but, in the end, the awards went to:
UNDERGRADUATE POSTERS:
- First place ($100 Visa gift card): Timothy Hynes (from Dr. S. Christian's
lab). - Runner-up ($50 Visa gift card): Luke MacMillan (from Dr. J. Brosnan's lab)
GRADUATE ORAL PRESENTATIONS:
- First place ($100 Visa gift card): James Pius (from Dr. V. Booth's lab)
- Runner-up ($50 Visa gift card): Nicole Smith (from Dr. S. Christian's lab)
