Algebra Elevenses
Growing number of graduate students supervised by members of Atlantic Algebra Centre resulted in the launch of a new project christened Algebra Elevenses.
The project represents social backstage meetings, in which algebraists can have coffee or tea with cookies or pizzas and potentially talk algebra. Algebra Elevenses serve the purpose of unification of the algebraic community by informal means. The difference between Algebra Seminar and the new activity is that this is not to report one's own results but rather to tell people something interesting. Since the graduate students and the AAC members have different backgrounds and areas of research, it is always captivating to learn even quite basic facts or, perhaps, the history of a problem of interest.
