The Public Engagement Framework
Memorial University’s Public Engagement Framework (2025 – 2035) is a guiding document for people doing and supporting publicly engaged research, teaching and learning, and public and community partnerships at Memorial. Its purpose is to assist individuals and units at Memorial in their respective planning processes, and to provide clarity on Memorial’s approach to PE.
The current version builds on the foundation of Memorial’s initial Public Engagement Framework, which was in place from 2012 – 2022. You can learn more about the history of the framework here. The current Framework was developed through a pan-university renewal process, including students, faculty and academic staff, non-academic staff, alumni and members of the public. An overview of the renewal process is available here.
