Diploma Programs
The Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences offers a number of diploma programs so that students may complement their studies in one or more fields of specialization.
These programs offer students the opportunity to gain in-depth knowledge and practical experience. The following diploma programs are offered in the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences:
- Ancient Worlds (Dept of Archaeology)
- Creative Writing (Dept of English)
- Environmental Humanities (Dept of History)
- Geographic Information Sciences (Dept of Geography) - Please note: this program is suspended until further notice.
- Humanities (Dept of Philosophy)
- Northern Peoples, Lands, and Resources
- Public Policy (Dept of Political Science)
- Stage and Screen Technique (Dept of English)
Admission to all diploma programs is competitive and limited. Application forms can be found on the Office of the Registrar’s web page.
Most diploma programs are completed concurrently with a degree.
As of a University Senate decision in February 2008, diploma students no longer need hold an undergraduate degree in order to be awarded their diploma.
