Information Management Month 2025

April is internationally recognized as Information Management (IM) Month. To celebrate, Memorial’s Information Management & Protection Office is focusing on the theme Tools & Technologies to Help You Manage Information.  We are excited to let you know about the information tools and solutions available to help you best manage and protect your information assets. By becoming familiar with using these tools and solutions in accordance with Memorial’s information management framework and guidance, you can optimally manage and protect information. In addition, this month, we are launching new guidance and resources regarding navigating the use of Artificial Intelligence, including an Artificial Intelligence (AI) Awareness training course

Microsoft 365: Teams, OneDrive, Outlook and Bookings Training Session Offering 

Would you or someone in your office like the opportunity to learn more about Microsoft 365?  The Office of the CIO, through the Gardiner Centre, is offering an all-day online-training session on Tuesday, April 29, 2025.  

There are a limited number of spots and they will fill up quickly.  If you’re interested in attending, please email kseaward@mun.ca.   

Microsoft 365: Teams, OneDrive, Outtlook and Bookings Training Overview: This comprehensive training session is designed to equip participants with essential skills and knowledge for optimizing their use of key Microsoft 365 services. The course will focus on enhancing productivity and collaboration. Throughout the day, participants will engage in interactive activities with applied learning. This training is aimed at empowering attendees with the knowledge to leverage key services in the Microsoft 365 suite to help better enable a secure, efficient, productive and collaborative working environment.

Key Learnings:

  • Security: Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA).
  • Organization: Naming conventions for Microsoft Groups and Teams sites.
  • MS Teams: Teams site request process, collaboration features (Posts, announcements, hosting meetings), setup for students, navigating multiple environments, chat and post retention policies, managing information, storage quotas, integration with Outlook, Planner, Lists and other tools, and best practices for meetings.
  • OneDrive: Sharing permissions, quota management, the process for requesting additional storage, file syncing.
  • Outlook: Hosting meetings, calendar management, contacts, to-do lists, quotas, scheduling polls, managing delegated calendars, shared mailboxes, recovering deleted items.
  • Bookings: Using a "Book Me" page for scheduling.
