Rapid speciation in Desert Pupfish
"Four species of desert pupfish [Cyprinodon] that are thought to have evolved in the Death Valley region of California and Nevada within the last 30,000 years, when their local aquatic habitats became isolated. Cyrpinodon diabolis, restricted to a single spring, is remarkable for its small size and lack of pelvic fins." (after Brown 1971, in Futuyma 1997)
